Roy Sidwell and Keith Barr discographies...
Roy Sidwell and Keith Barr both played, mainly tenor sax, on the British jazz scene in the mid 1950s. They both worked, albeit at different times, with the Kirchin Band and together they featured in Ken Moule's popular small group in 1954/5...
Roy Sidwell played tenor and baritone saxes and clarinet. He was born in Nelson, Lancashire in 1927. After dance band work in the north of England he came to London and between 1952 and 1954 worked with Basil Kirchin and Vic Lewis and played gigs in France, Belgium and Germany.
In the mid 1950s he worked with Ken Moule, Carl Barriteau and Buddy Featherstonhaugh before returning to dance band work with Oscar Rabin. Then played mainly in West End shows until the early 1990s. Continued to play freelance dates as well as teaching.

Sax player Keith Barr was born in London in 1927 and specialized on tenor from the age of fourteen. He served in the Army from 1945 to 1947 and worked with Cab Kaye in 1948, Ralph Sharon in 1951 then Ambrose in 1953 before joining Ken Moule and the Ivor and Basil Kirchin Band in 1955 and '56.
After working with John Dankworth and Jack Parnell he moved to Australia in 1960 eventually settling in Sydney.
He died in Australia in 1971 when he went into a diabetic coma and fell from an apartment window.

One of the titles on the recording below - "Lover man" is a feature for Keith Barr on tenor sax. It was not released until the Vocalion CD in 2004, about thirty years after Barr's death...
