Elaine Delmar is the daughter of bandleader and trumpet player Leslie "Jiver" Hutchinson who led a successful big band in the 1940s and '50s. Brought up in a musical environment Elaine was always going to be a singer and sang with her father's band in the 1950s and broadcast from 1959. She has subsequently made a career in stage musicals and as a cabaret performer and jazz singer.
